Occupation Groups

- Navigate to the Career Pathways Module, via the Catalog Content dropdown.
- Select the Occupation Groups tab.
Create Occupation GroupsLink to this section
- Navigate to the Occupation Groups page.
- Click +New, and type a Name for the Occupation Group.
- In the Occupations search box, select the CIP code to associate with the new group.
- You can select up to 75 occupations for each Occupation Group. Occupations are displayed by salary.
- Click Save & Publish.
Copy/Edit/Delete an Occupation GroupLink to this section
School administrators can create a copy of any default or custom Occupation Group.
- Navigate to the Occupation Groups page.
- Choose any existing occupation group and click Copy.
- Edit the new Occupation Group name and list of related occupations.
- Click Save & Publish.
Catalog Managers cannot edit or delete a default occupation group but can edit and delete any occupation groups they create. Managers can copy a default occupation group and edit or delete the copied group.
Deleting an Occupation Group will remove all references of that group in all Pathways: Job Market Outlook instances for all courses and programs across domains and will not replace deleted Occupation Groups in other certificates. Delete custom occupation groups with caution.
Search for Occupation GroupsLink to this section
School administrators can quickly find any Occupation Group by using the Filter Options. Occupation Groups can be filtered by CIP code or keyword by entering your search query into the Contains text field. A predictive search will narrow the results as you type.
Export Occupation GroupsLink to this section
To export a list of Occupation Groups at any time, click Export CSV. This will download a CSV file so that occupation and Occupation Group data can be easily shared across school departments.
