Career and Program Explorer

Let students search by careers to learn what your school offers that will help them land a job or advance in their desired career path. Students and prospects can also see the salary levels for career outcomes, the top employers in each field, and other demographic information needed to help learners determine their best path forward. Customize the academic programs of study you want to feature when visitors search your site. Import Modern Campus CMS pages or create new programs, as follows:

1. Go to Pathways > Programs.
2. Click +New.
3. Enter the name and type of the program.
4. Enable Active to display the program in the search.
5. Enter an absolute URL where visitors will be redirected for program details.
   • You can also import links to Modern Campus CMS pages.
6. Enter a program code.
7. Select up to 25 tags to be applied to the program.
8. Select an occupation group and appearance setting for the program.
   • The occupation group links the program to the career the visitor searched. Your program will appear as a search result for any occupation in the group.
9. Save and Publish.

To copy, edit, and delete, go to Pathways > Programs and click the More Actions menu for the program.

To set the default geographical region and the appearance for the career data go to Pathways > Career and Program Explorer > Settings.

Appearance settings apply to all instances of the Career and Program Explorer.

Choose to let visitors search for data outside of your default region. Visitor can also grant their web browser permission to provide their current location.

Embed the Career and Program Explorer between header and footerLink to this section

Use an embed code to put your Career and Program Explorer on any page in you Pathways-allowed domains, inside or outside of Modern Campus CMS. The Career and Program Explorer is meant to be placed on a full-width page between the header and footer, with no additional content around it.

1. Go to Add-Ons > Pathways > Career and Program Explorer > Embed Code.
2. Type to enter the meta title and divider character for your Career and Program Explorer page.
   • For example, Career and Program Explorer | Gallena University
   • Useful for search engine optimization (SEO).
3. To pre-filter shown programs, add Tags that were associated with your programs.
4. To translate your Career and Program Explorer page and results, select a language.
5. To customize your Career and Program Explorer styles, provide an absolute path to a CSS file.
   • Click to download a starter CSS file to get up and running quickly.
6. Select SEO History to give the Career and Program Explorer an SEO-friendly URL.
   • To select, complete server configurations and provide an SEO Base Path. If you have questions about this setting, please contact the helpdesk.
7. Select to show Persona Guides below the search box on the main Career and Program Explorer landing page.
8. Click Copy Embed Code.
9. Paste embed code onto any page in your allowed domains.
   • Contact our helpdesk to add domains.

Embed the search box anywhereLink to this section

The full Career and Program Explorer is meant to be placed on a page between the header and footer, with no additional content around it. You can also embed just the search box anywhere on any page.

1. Go to Add-Ons > Pathways > Career and Program Explorer > Embed Code.
2. Type to enter the English label for the search box.
   • This will overwrite the default value of "Start your Journey here...".
3. Enter the absolute URL of the Career and Program Explorer main landing page.
   • This will be used to direct the user upon completing the search.
4. Style the font and color for the search box.
   • To customize your search box styles, provide an absolute path to a CSS file.
   • Click to download a starter CSS file to get up and running quickly.
5. To translate your search box and results, select a language.
6. Click Copy Embed Code.
7. Paste embed code onto any page in your allowed domains, inside or outside Modern Campus CMS.
